Dealing With It

Hey MIllionaire Matchmaker, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!!
Back to Full Blog

Millionaire matchmaker Patti Stanger believes that men don't go for women with short hair, among other things. Stanger happens to be a millionaire matchmaker and charges financially well-off men a cool $50,000.00 to match them up with suitable women. Reading her comments, one cannot help but visualize a slim 17 or 18-year old with long hair and a model's body. Stanger needs to be more specific.

But she's entitled to her opinion for whatever it's worth. Mor power to her. But I believe that long hair does not look good on every woman. For example, long hair on really short women does not help them to look taller. Nor does long hair enhance the looks of a woman who is rather homely or really up in years. And even on young women, long hair isn't very becoming if it is stringy, limp and greasy. I think that a lot of men AND women would agree with this.

At the same time, I also believe that short hair doesn't always mean really short hair. There are a number of short-hair styles that become a woman. They flatter her looks and are usually easy to maintain. Of course, a lot depends on a given woman, her style preferences, type of hair, and age as much as her stylist's cutting skills.

I'd like to add that women, regardless of their looks, have their own preferences regarding the type of man that they would date or marry, and that those preferences should be respected. They want a man to look halfway decent and fun to be with and hold a decent job. His hair style, or the lack of it thereof, also matters. As long as a man and woman like each other and are comfortable in each other's company, looks shouldn't be a deciding factor. I could be wrong. But I truly feel that beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder.
